Abstract

The economic analysis of Bosso, Chanchaga and Tagwai dams proposed storage and off-shore hydroelectric power was conducted. Regression equation was used to estimate the cost of civil engineering work, cost of electromechanical equipments and total cost of establishing the storage and off-shore hydroelectric power plants in each of the dams by summing up the cost of civil engineering work and cost of electromechanical equipments. The result showed that the estimated total cost of establishing Bosso, Chanchaga and Tagwai dams proposed storage hydroelectric power plants were; ₦ 12,205,311,783, ₦ 19, 466,230,000 and ₦ 16, 734, 495, 000 respectively while the estimated total cost of establishing Bosso, Chanchaga and Tagwai off-shore hydroelectric power plants were; ₦ 3, 208, 563,000, ₦ 4,055,384,000 and ₦ 4, 099, 907, 055 respectively
