Archiving Policy
The Nigerian Journal of Physics (NJP) is committed to ensuring the long-term preservation, accessibility, and integrity of all published scholarly content. To guarantee permanent availability of its publications, the journal participates in internationally recognized digital preservation initiatives.
PKP Preservation Network (PKP PN)
NJP is archived through the Public Knowledge Project Preservation Network (PKP PN), which provides free digital preservation services for journals using the Open Journal Systems (OJS) platform. The PKP PN ensures secure, long-term preservation of journal content and guarantees continued access even in the event that the journal website becomes unavailable.
CLOCKSS
NJP is also preserved through CLOCKSS (Controlled Lots of Copies Keep Stuff Safe), a community-governed digital archive that ensures published scholarly content remains permanently accessible. CLOCKSS preserves content in geographically distributed archive nodes around the world and makes content openly available should it no longer be accessible from the publisher.
LOCKSS
The journal additionally supports the LOCKSS (Lots of Copies Keep Stuff Safe) system, which creates multiple secure copies of published content across participating libraries worldwide. This decentralized preservation approach safeguards against data loss and ensures the authenticity and availability of published articles over time.
Commitment to Long-Term Preservation
By participating in PKP PN, CLOCKSS, and LOCKSS, the Nigerian Journal of Physics demonstrates its commitment to maintaining a permanent scholarly record and ensuring that published research remains accessible to researchers, institutions, and the global scientific community for generations to come.
